On the grass of a park was a green bundle from a menthol candy camouflaged.

1967 began Richard Long the land art with A line made by walking over the grass in a landscape, as an ecological critical reaction in US against consume. ‘My art is in the nature of things’ says Long.

Years later, 2011 showed The Nationalgalerie at Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin an artistic work by Richard Long named The Berlin Circle out of slates.

Art made by collecting during walking in parks is a visual quote and inspired on Longs Berlin Circle questioning the meaning of nature-culture in a city like Berlin. The definition of nature includes the world „culture“ since the 70s in Germany.

Green objects found in city parks are forming the circle. Some of this objects where camouflage in the scenario that results a city park and some others collected and recycled.

The artificiality of an urban nature is comparable to the plastic found objects.

This objects remain people inhabiting this parks what is interesting in contrast to the inhabited and isolated pure and perfect landscapes from Longs Land Art, that evokes to me a romantic idea of landscape and that is far away of belonging everyone in an equally way.

This project is also related to the nature of things in an environmental context to question the politics related to dealing with the plastic problem created by Urban Solid Rests (USR). One idea is a transformation of plastic matter into a natural element saving energy by burning this USR that would even cause much more CO2 than the natural slow transformation process of USR.

The needed time of transformation process from USR into organic material in a natural way, is very slow and damageable. It costs the life of housands of animals every year and contaminates the ocean. The Nature takes years to transform one single plastic.

An appropiate solution to the USR problem has not been found yet and that some countries pay to get the problem away by sending other countries their USR to be buried in their territory.

The Berlin Circle is not anymore about the form. It doesn't look good, is not abstract but defined and it is a common problem. It belongs to everybody and equally to the past, the present and the future.

A circle, a line: they look good, they are abstract they are common knowledge.

They belong to everyone and equally to the past, the present and the future.
